RBC expands private banking team in Singapore

The wealth management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has strengthened its presence in Singapore with several senior appointments aimed at expanding its business in Southeast Asia.
Kamran Azim has been appointed head of private banking, effective immediately. He will lead RBC’s private banking strategy across the region, focusing on broadening the client base and enhancing relationships.
Azim will also continue to serve as the bank’s chief operating officer (COO). He has been with RBC since 2008, holding senior positions in RBC Wealth Management and RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.
RBC has also hired Jessie Heng as managing director and team head, joining from Bank Julius Baer. Heng has over 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry, having previously held senior relationship management positions at DBS Private Banking, Credit Suisse, and Citi Private Banking.
Moses Seow, with 25 years of experience across retail banking, wealth products, asset management, corporate banking and private banking, has joined as executive director. Seow comes from Lombard Odier Asia in Singapore.
Derrick Yong has also joined as director from VP Bank, bringing previous experience from Standard Chartered Bank, Clariden Leu, EFG, and CIMB.
Additionally, Eng Huat Thio, with more than three decades in financial services, has joined RBC Wealth Management as a director. Thio has held roles at Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, and OCBC Bank, most recently serving as a relationship manager at Julius Baer.
