Bank of Singapore hires investment solutions head in Hong Kong

Bank of Singapore has hired Joey Tang  as head of its investment solutions group in Hong Kong.

In this new role, Tang will spearhead the local product and solutions strategy across key areas such as capital markets, alternative investments and managed solutions, as well as lending advisory.

He will also be responsible for driving the bank’s innovation of product capabilities in support of clients in Greater China.

Tang, who has close to 30 years of experience in investment banking and private wealth, was most recently head of funds, alternatives and solutions at Bank of China (Hong Kong) Private Banking.

His arrival will enable Bank of Singapore to capitalise on the increasing demand for sophisticated product offerings and financial solutions among clients. “To serve this demand, we are dedicated to growing a strong team to provide personalised wealth management solutions to match our clients’ investment needs,” said Vivienne Chia, global head of investment solutions group.

In addition to reporting to Singapore-based Chia, Tang will have a local reporting line to Rickie Chan, head of private banking, Greater China, and chief executive, of the Hong Kong branch.

Tang’s appointment is the latest in a series of strategic hires to add to the bank’s advisory and product solutions strength globally.

For example, Bank of Singapore recently appointed six new hires at its Dubai International Financial Centre branch to enhance its advisory and product offerings across the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
